Let's Take A Walk

Say hello to my happy spot.
Mirror Lake, in the High Uintas:

I live pretty high up in the mountains. Higher still are the aptly named High Uintas about 40 miles from me. We sneak up there on a regular basis ~ to beat the heat.

This glorious glacial lake starts celebrating summer... right about the time we're saying bye-bye to the same dang season.

Just wanted to share ~ in case you're goofing around doin' nuttin' like me, on this Labor Day weekend.

Doin' nuttin' is kinda fun. I'm thinkin' I might make a full-time job of it.

It's an amazing micro-climate.

We need to get you out here so you can experience it first hand. :)))

That water looks amazing! Is it a good swimming place?

Wow, it really is gorgeous. My Dad loves to ride his motorcycle up there and he said it was pretty but I had no idea. Hmmm I think I may know where I'm going to spend my day off.

I haven't found time to get up there yet this year- but I sure want to. Better hurry!

Such a beautiful spot in the world. I could certainly relax and soak up the atmosphere there too.

Kate, I can see why this is a favourite spot! The blue skies, the deep blue lake and the mountain in the distance, it seems like a perfect spot to me.

What a beautiful sight. Just looking at those mountains in the distance cools one off. It is just a gorgeous spot to escape to Kate!

Kate,

That is indeed a lovely spot. It is amazing the quick summers that alpine locations can have. What a wonderful getaway for this holiday weekend.

PS, I wanted to let you know how much I have been enjoying your blog and the flowers in your garden and places you get to in your altitude.  I have been linking to you for awhile and wondered if you would consider linking to mine. I would feel honored if you did.

You can find my site at Home Garden Diggers - http://www.HomeGardenDiggers.com

Thanks Yael

I wouldn't mind making a career out of doin' nuttin'. But I'd probably wreck it by doin' too much just because I had the time!

Gosh, those photos make me wish we could go back to July and I could spend some of it in the mountains, shooting the wildflowers, instead of riding my bike!

But only for a day or six... :)

How beautiful! And how nice to have a place where you can retreat from the heat; I could have used a cooler spot myself last week. I'm getting pretty good at 'doin nuttin':)
