Can you guess the name of this wild flowering bush? Hint: It's a native to the desert southwest.

Only because I fell in love with them at my MIL's in Albuquerque: Apache Plume! Grows fairly well on the crunchy west hill at my place, too.

Your little girl mischievous laughter cracked me up. :)

That lovely shrub is Apache Plume.

Have a great day!

I guess that is a little east for me. I live in the high desert north of Palm Springs. Doesn't grow around here. Pretty though. We didn't get enough rain for wildflowers this year.

Oh that's funny - I thought it looked similar to Apache Plume (one of my favs), but the ones I've seen were whiter.

I've never seen them before. Pretty!

I played too. Mine are here and here.

Never would have guessed since I'm out here in the Midwest where we don't see wildflowers like these. Fun post! ;)

Fun! (How did you talk the crickets into chirping for your video?)

I agree with Deb. Apache Plume is my guess. Love that mysterious laughter.

Oh, you gals are toooo smart! It is, indeed, Apache Plum. (I thought it was a tough one but apparently not!)

I spent most of my life in southern New Mexico, and I didn't know what this was. We had no water, though, so maybe that's why I wasn't familiar with it. Cool to feature a video for a change!

This was a new one to me--so pretty! It reminded me a little of one of my favorites in Arizona, the Baja Fairy Duster, but it has red blooms.

Wish you could have come to Asheville, too, Kate--maybe one of these years we'll get to meet up! Did I miss your daughter's wedding or is the big event still coming up?

It's Apache Plume and it is spectacular grown as a large mass. Now, if I could only find Fendlerbush for my yard...
Sometimes they grow together.
I know only one place in north central NM where one is and a couple of locations in SW CO
