The Hike to Cinderella

Greetings from Bavaria! Where I have been working for the last week. {Seriously.} I freelance for a hiking boot company based in Germany and I was invited to their international sales meeting.

I've been taking pictures all along the way and posting them to Facebook but Google won't let me do the same thing on the blog. So, today is catch up day for posting.

It is soooo beautiful here! The weather is warm. The fragrance of bright, flowering trees fill the air. (Haven't a clue what they are ~ do you know?)

English Daisies were popping up all over the place (perhaps they call them German Daisies over here ;)  I love how flower boxes grace the windows of nearly every apartment building. Plentiful wildflowers were in bloom, all along the hiking trails.

We took a train through the countryside ~ to visit the Neuschwanstein castle. I'm hugely intimidated by European train stations. Everyone scurries about as if they know what they're doing and it's so painfully obvious I do not.

The Cinderella Castle is in the background
Neuschwanstein is the original 'Cinderella' castle.

From the town of Fussein, we hiked to the top.

On the walk, I was kind of chuckling to myself. You see, it's always been difficult freelancing for this particular company. The clients are wonderful. But the other two freelance marketers I work with can be pretty nasty, at times.

Here I am... hiking up to the Cinderella Castle with my 2 evil step sisters?? Ya gotta admit that's kinda funny. :-)

To be fair, they were on their best behavior. Nobody tried to push me off a cliff, or lock me in the dungeon. Perhaps the stunning beauty of Bavaria inspires everyone to let bygones be bygones...

Here's hoping all is well with you and your gardens!

What a great place to travel for work! I'm envious.
Well, not too envious of those evil stepsisters, but I would like to visit the Cinderella castle as long as I could stay out of the dungeon.

lol! That's such a funny comparison you were experiencing while in the castle.
I love the boot company you freelance for. Besides the fact that they make quality hiking boots, they make the only hiking boots that fit my 16 yr old son who wears a size 15.
He is grateful that he can backpack 50 milers in comfort, thanks to his great boots.
