I took a clump to our rustic 'shack-teau' at the lake, years ago and every year the birds helped me spread them. I love watching them come alive with the bees and butterflys!janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14550494417488866070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27385862.post-11805024893611570822010-10-10T20:15:18.023-06:002010-10-10T20:15:18.023-06:00I've been thankful for asters, too, in recent ...I've been thankful for asters, too, in recent weeks, Kate, since not much else is blooming in my butterfly garden. I started with just one native aster planted last year, and they really multiplied this year, but I'm going to call them wildflowers, not weeds:)

Loved the story!Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01384059342847120951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27385862.post-70982685226167341412010-10-10T11:11:49.042-06:002010-10-10T11:11:49.042-06:00I loved this story. One aster just kick ass(ter) every year.

I have adopted a wild aster that showed up in my garden, but it is a faint, pale imitation of yours. Any idea of the species? I know there are other wild asters around here, I see them up in the mountains in late summer. I guess I'll have to, er, liberate some seeds next time I get up above 5000'. About the only other things still blooming in my native plant garden are skimpy 2nd blooming penstemons and good old coneflower. Even the rabbitbrush has pretty much faded.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15239798951473493987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27385862.post-34481272688006842592010-10-08T09:24:37.164-06:002010-10-08T09:24:37.164-06:00Glad you enjoyed the story, Sweetbay. ;)Glad you enjoyed the story, Sweetbay. ;)Kate/High Altitude Gardeninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06690999267357525527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27385862.post-7669766775870670502010-10-08T07:14:03.632-06:002010-10-08T07:14:03.632-06:00The asters are beautiful.
