Who Could It Be?

Mystery Flower #1

Was wandering aimlessly around the garden very early this morning. Sipping coffee and working on a flimsy excuse to skip an upcoming birthday party.

Mystery Flower #2

When I was stopped dead in my tracks by this strange thing in the photo above. Hey! Is this a Stargazer Lily? Did I plant this? When did I do that?

Mystery Flower #3

Perhaps this forgetfulness is a direct result of me inching ever closer to the 5th decade.

Or, maybe I've become scattered as my gardens grow by leaps and bounds. Whatever the reason, it's a little worrisome when I'm the only gardener around this joint and I haven't a clue what things are or where they came from.

Now the upside to all this confusion is that I've found my flimsy excuse to skip the party. I'm having a senior moment and I plum forgot.

Mystery Flower #4

Last but not least... who is this little darling?

They grow wild, in tiny bunches, in the grass.

This is me taking the photo. :)

I'm pretty sure #2 is a Stargazer Lily but I'm really sure I love the cowboy hat. I bet it looked great with your PJs. KC

The Sea Holly Miss Wilmott's Ghost supposedly got its name by her secretly dropping seeds of it wherever she visited.

Perhaps you have a mystery seed dropper too? I quite like the thought of that, especially as the flowers are all so pretty!

I think I would have remembered planting a stargazer, but I have forgotten greater things! Also the last looks like a gentian to me. Which I can spell, but am loath to pronouce.

Hi, Johnson; - Hmmm... that could be it. I tried growing sea holly but it kicked the bucket. Perhaps Miss Wilmott's Ghost is making amends... :)

Hi, Iron!

It's all coming back to me now. Well, sort of.

I grew Star Gazers indoors, 2 winters ago. At some point, I must have planted them. Perhaps they've been waiting all this time for me to water them? :D

KC - Yup! The cowboy hat is over kill but it matches my cowgirl jammies. I'm quite a vision first thing in the morning!

I think it is StarGazer, I had the same one myself and did not know the name, but someone id'ed it for me on my blog one day.

If it makes you feel better... I'm 31 and often forget whether I've fed my three year old daughter breakfast (surely a sign that my brain can't function without coffee, so don't make me!) :) So forgetting planting a few flowers is nothing.

Tricia - Coffee. I hear ya. Even the 4-legged creatures that inhabit this house know better than to approach me before I've had my first cup. :)

Hi, Rosey -- Thanks! I was over at your place earlier this a.m., admiring your lovely white Lily. (FYI, still haven't gotten me arse in gear to figure out the music thing...)

Stop worrying and consider all four to be gifts from the flower fairy. Except perhaps the gentian, which, if I'm not mistaken, grows wild in the high country.

Hi, Granny;
I do like the idea of a Flower Fairy Garden. Especially if it has magical properties to prevent weeds from growing! :D
