Post Muertos Earring Party

Our very own blue light special! Pretty Christmas decorations lighted the path from my place to L's house for her annual drool fest ~ aka Stocking Stuffer Earring party.

L is, without a doubt, the most creative traveler I know. She vacations for a month in Mexico every year. While down there, she shops for gorgeous goodies to sell back home and pay for her travels.

Handmade figurines, beautiful scarves and silver jewelry...

Screaming deal price tags make these goodies extra pretty. Lucky girls on my Christmas list get a bauble, or two.

This is the necklace I wanted, but I was good. I refrained. 'Tis, after all, the season to be shopping for other people. (Yeah, yeah. That required a whole lotta willpower I rarely possess!)

What's with the skulls?
* El Día de los Muertos (All Souls' Day) is a Latin American celebration to remember friends and family members who have passed. They're not meant to be scary. The little skull in the above photo is made of sugar ~ a tasty little treat L whipped up for her guests.

The blue lights look great, don't they. In Woodstock (the one in the Cotswolds, not yours in America!) they have the town decorated with blue lights in the trees and they also look good.

You have a Woodstock? Man, the Secret Valley has everything, doesn't it? ;-)

Hello,

I just love blue lights and bargains even more. The jewelry is just beautiful. Mexico is only 3 hours away by car, but I haven't been in over 18 years. Maybe I need to schedule another trip and buy some trinkets...

Hi, Jan and AZ;
It's an annual thing and so much fun. I don't know where she finds this stuff but it's all beautiful and a great bargain, too!

PS: If I was that close, AZ, I might have to coordinate a shopping trip. ;-)

That blue light setting was GORGEOUS !! Reminded me of the 70s style for Xmas (now is that dating me or what .. I was a young child then ? LOL) .. I love the skulls and think that "holiday" is wonderful .. I think I will have to learn how to make them ?
That jewelery is beautiful ! Your friend has the perfect idea .. I wish husband could get his hands on things like that when he is in Cuba .. I dropped a bucket load of hints for earrings .. but I'm sure he has forgotten THAT when he and his hockey buddies hit the beach ? LOL ... men ??
