Kate, That first image is just beautiful. Tie-dyed shirts brings forth thoughts of the band The Grateful Dead, a group of musicians I would have loved to have seen in concert. :)
Wow! Those are just beautiful!! I'll have to check out more of your blog - my climate is probably somewhat similar to yours and I would love to learn some gardening tips. And be able to grow such lovely flowers!!
Kate, Those are amazingly unusual daisies. Wow!! And you are having a wonderful time watching them, I'm sure. :-) I have a Gaillardia Daisy ('Fanfare') that has petals like your second photo.
Gorgeous! The first and last ones really do remind me of tie-dyed shirts:) With your hint in the title, I'm sure you're talking about The Grateful Dead. But for some reason, the first thought that came to my mind was The Strawberry Alarm Clock. Do you remember them? I think they were probably a one-hit wonder, but I always thought their name was so cool:)

I've never seen daisies quite like these...I love them!
Wow, those are beautiful flowers. I'm only at 4500' and all I get in winter are leafless sticks.
Kate,

wow, that second one is so bizarre looking!. But if I had to pick one, I like the first. Except if I was looking for a bizarre one...lol
Er, I'm not sure which band you're referring to. lol
Those flowers are amazing.
Thanks, Everyone and Happy Wordless Wednesday!
Liisa - you nailed it. Grateful Dead. I've never seen them in concert, either, but I'll bet it would have been a fun time! :D
The daisies are so intricate, so detailed in their beauty.
Gorgeous!
Mine is dedicated to my sister, today. A candle in the window of life.
Gorgeous! Were these recent pics?
Gorgeous photos Kate, I've never seen anything like that purple one before.

Thanks, All!
They are Zulu and Sunscape Daisies, if interested. Very easy to grow annuals in most zones. :D

They are all beautiful, but I love, love, love that white one!
Hippy-Dippy Daisies, how clever, Kate. Methinks you should patent them. And there's nothing quite like a DEADHEAD to do the dead heading. LOL
Beautiful daisies! I missed the 'hint' in the title at first pass, but the Grateful Dead sprang to mind, immediately.
And, (this would be a good item to put in those 'tell us about yourself' memes) I HAVE seen the Dead. Live. In concert. Several dozen times...
I've always called the ones shaped like the purple jobber "Gecko-toe Daisies." One look at the little lizard's foot will tell you why.
P.S. Not for posting -- I still can't access your blog from IE, but Firefox works.

Thx, All;
I'm glad you enjoyed them. They are the happiest flowers! :D
Shady;
I'm growing that Gaillardia Fanfare 'Daisy' too!
Rose;
I've not heard of that band but I do love the name!
Jan!
I definitely have to meme you! :)) Sounds like you've got some cool stories to tell!
Gorgeous flowers and pictures. I think the 2nd and 3rd are my faves.
Oh my goodness!!! They are absolutely eye-popping - so beautiful!
My goodness, those are AWESOME to stare at in the middle of winter!
My first thought was Grateful Dead, too, and I hadn't thought of Strawberry Alarm Clock in YEARS! Maybe decades! (OUCH!) What a trip down memory lane!
these are so gorgeous...now you made me wanna go grow daisies lol
Thanks, Gals! :) You should give 'em a try. They grow fast in a sunny window.
