John Cabot Roses (post blooming extravaganza.)
Oh, dear little blog... how I have missed thee. And, my garden, too.
I believe this might be the longest break I've ever taken between blog posts. And, while I do have a great excuse, it doesn't make for a very good story.
~ Look close. Not just flowering in this frigid world. Bravely putting forth new buds! You grow, girl. A scary ear infection (Geez! Those things are painful) had me down for the count. I slept away an entire week thanks to Dr. Kevorkian, Jr. ~ that HMO whiz of mine ~ who's answer to any dilemma is... Here! Take more pills.
Euphorbia adds a crazy bit of color to this icy brown landscape.
Plus today is Bloom Day! And, I gotta participate! Even if I don't have a single thing worth showing.
Some high in the sky apples, keeping the birdies happy and the horses frustrated:

perennial sunflowers. Which, in my humble opinion, look just as pretty in winter time:

I love this post! The Sacabiosa is new to my gardens this year... and I absolutely love it. I picked the last bloom to dry. Hope you're feeling better soon.
So sorry to hear you've been ill, Kate. Hope Dr. K's pills are doing the trick...and sleep, yes, that's my remedy for everything.
Amazing to see that scabiosa braving the snow and ice; I don't think I have anything that tough in my garden.

They're a favorite flower of mine, mostly because of how feisty they are. Once they start blooming they never want to stop.
Oh dear Kate, I hope you are feeling better. Ear infections can be so painful, you take care of yourself. Your garden still looks very good even with the snow:)

The Euphorbia is gorgeous. Does it have green/white foliage and white flowers in the summer?

Scabiosa are my favorite winter flower here. So nice to know it will bloom in the snow.
Kate, I hope you are feeling better by now. I love the bloom of Scabiosa in the snow and the first photo too. Those apples will fall soon enough for the horses. Take it easy over the holiday. I trust you will be up to doing everything. ;>)
