You captured the solace and desserted-ness of that place so well. It's eerie to go out there and see the City so clearly and yet be so set apart from it.

Oh Kate! What gorgeous pictures. It is so beautiful there. Your pictures pick up the look of the vastness of the land on the island. That is strange that there are no Antelope, only Buffalo.
I took my kids camping there once after a pioneer stint, thinking it would be the perfect place to set the theme of 1850. We woke up coated with eight inches of unpredicted snow the next morning! I told them I'd take them to McDonald's if they'd put away the tent and the sleeping bags (because they didn't want to get out of their sleeping bags), and I've never seen everything fly back into the car so quickly! (We'd had only pioneer-type food for eight days, so McDonald's was the best bribe in the world.)

Hi Kate, What amazing landscapes! I like the contrast of the golden fields and the cool blue skies. The wide vistas make to view seem endless.
