Barren and beautiful, Antelope is a large island surrounded by the Great Salt Lake.
An important GLOBAL resource for migratory and nesting birds.
Home to year 'round residents, too.
Chances are, you eat Great Salt Lake salt every day.
One of the Morton Salt company's largest facilities is located in Salt Lake City.

Very pretty photos, however, I will not be able to think of Antelope Island without recalling the pestilence of shrimp flies that Becky & I encountered in our unfortunate mission to dip a toe in the lake! Now I see that we should have focused on the non-water features!

ReplyDeleteWOO HOO! I won something!?!
ReplyDeleteI never win anything! Thank you, Jan, for reversing that life long trend! :D
"Daycation"....I love that idea. The photos are grand and a nice introduction for the FAC. I hope we don't run into the shrimp flies.
ReplyDeleteGood job L & J.
I was going to ask where were the photos of the flies...and, Jan, they were brine flies...not shrimp flies...
ReplyDeletesilly girl...
Whatever...
ReplyDeleteNow, now, sisters... quit fighting. I think you're both right. Aren't they called brine shrimp flies?
