Beautiful post Kate! I love the fish leading into your photo of the I am guessing Viburnum berries. Roses, grasses ... all lovely photos! Winter is so fun with the right equipment ... skis and snowshoes do so help us enjoy the landscape. ;>)
Hi, Donna! That Coo Coo Kid of yours would have a blast in the Adventure Garden. That snake that I photographed is one of many. The snakes are the sprinkler system!
Hi, Kiki ~ Great birdie pics over at your place. AND! Just last night I discovered your old post Gentle Spirits. Cool to see you're a horse lover, too.
Thx, Carol! We need to drag you along on a snowshoe adventure so you can i.d. all of the plants as we march by! :)) Neither one of us is very good at that ~ embarrassing since we're, allegedly, master gardeners.
Hi, Gail; Red Butte is a wonderful collection of gardens in the Salt Lake valley. They have a seed collecting day (which they probably do to keep all of us from pilfering seeds throughout the season!) Anyhoo, I'm growing some beautiful stuff in my gardens, thanks to them. And, surprise, surprise, I collected the seeds legally. :D
Hopefully we will get some fresh snow tonight! Looks like a good place for snowshoeing etc. I am not sure if the Colorado Rose potatoes were developed for mountain growing or not. I will have to do some research there. Rosey
Very nice photos, and appreciating stopping, taking off the gloves, getting the camera out, and freezing the fingers while snapping them!
Also re: the hankie comment over at Just-a-mere. DSis has a hankie collection that is really something. She's been hoarding them since she was in grade school. I have lots, too, but not like hers, and she finds the best ones ever. We love our hankies.
Hi, Joey! I loved seeing your lake escape captured on such a pretty winter day. In Minnesota we always called it 'up at the Lake,' (even if we were driving south to get to our lake cabin.) Is it the same with Michigan folks?
Hi, Rosey; I hope you get some good snowshoeing in over the weekend. It has been snowing a little every evening around these parts. Thx for looking into that tater for me. It might be a goodie for my garden. :)
Oooh... Iron! I knew we had lots in common. We should all do hanky posts! It's a lost art, that's for sure. I certainly treasure my small collection... :)
Great pictures. I love the one with the berries on the trees!!!! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Happy WW! :) And we didn't rent the tux - we bought it for like $30 (so much cheaper then renting) :)
Wow, it is fun to relive such a fun day with your photos. You have such a eye for the perfect shot. Breaking the rules make it so much more fun and then the bundt cake to top it off;-)
Great pictures! Was that a statue of a moose and her baby in the creek? Don't like the snake (ewww!) but the one with the red berries is gorgeous!! Poison ivy--could thing they labeled it or someone might stick their hands in it...what's this? LOL
Hi, Bookworm; Whaddya mean you don't like the snow? You live higher up in the mountains than I do! Perhaps we should become good friends with the Florida gardeners. The ones with plentiful guestrooms. :))
Wow. Good to know. The poison ivy sign was across an icy stream. If it had been closer I might have stood near the sign for a laugh. I'm glad someone has a head on her shoulders. :)
love the one with the berries!
ReplyDeleteLove the title! It looks very inviting all except the poison ivy!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of the snake coming out of the snow and the one of the red berries contrasted with the pure white.
ReplyDeleteHappy WW! So many beautiful things in nature to photograph ... here are just a few: http://tinyurl.com/yakdejk

ReplyDeleteHi, Noelle;
ReplyDeleteLots of red berries along our snowy path. I'm not sure what they are but they're quite striking against the snow. :)
Indeed it is, Kate, plus everyone says, "We're going UP NORTH!"
ReplyDeleteLove this photo essay, Kate!
ReplyDeleteOh, Joey, that has me giggling. I do miss the upper midwest...
ReplyDeleteHi, Kylee;
ReplyDeleteAre you and Marth BFFs now? What fun you've been having! I'm heading over to catch up on your travels...
Winter gardens are amazing... Love the sign on the bench; it says it all!
ReplyDeletestunning photos.
ReplyDeleteOh Kate, TOO funny that you say that. One of the other bloggers at the show posted this, which is absolutely HILARIOUS!

Hi, Spice;
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed you can find a tux for a 2 year old. :) But, now that I think about it my daughter wasn't much older when she was a flower girl.
Hi, Earl's Daughter!
Thanks for stopping by. Heading over to check out your blog right now...

ReplyDeleteSo wonderful to see so many signs of life on such a blustery cold day! Wonderful photo essay, and I love the look of your blog.
ReplyDeleteOh, KC... You would have to spill the beans about the bundt cake, wouldn't you? ha-ha
ReplyDeleteAmazing horsie photos, Snowcatcher! I absolutely love 'em! Happy WW.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Photos! Thank you for sharing! Happy Wordless Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteHi, Topiary;
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting. Are we soul sistas?? That photo of your horsie looks a lot like my horsie. :) Happy WW.

I love the statues and those beautiful red berries!
ReplyDeleteI feel a need to chime in on the "up north" conversation. In Wisconsin, we've been known to say we're going "up nort".....gotta luv the Badger State.
ReplyDeletedonna
Glad you chimed in Donna!
ReplyDeleteI'll be at a Wisconsin lake cabin this summer.
Must make sure to get the lingo right! I wouldn't want anyone to roll their eyes at the token Minnesnowtan. Oh, ya, you betcha... :D
Great photos, Kate! I think we might be safe from the poison ivy right now:)
ReplyDeleteThx, Rose;
ReplyDeleteKC - my hiking buddy - always has the best eye for signs along the trails. We had a good laugh over that one, too. :D
I actually have a friend who got a bad case of poison ivy in WINTER. Yes, you can still get it then!
ReplyDeleteHi, Kylee;
