  14. Your red leaves are spellbinding! I want to know when you took those. Our high altitude leaves disappeared last month!

    Your new blog background rocks, too.

  15. what a pretty fall day for picture taking and horse back riding! Do the horses ever try to snack on a tempting shrub?

  16. It surely looks like a fun ride. Even the horses appreciate the sceneries and autumn colors, haha!

  20. Hi, All!
    Happy Wordless Wednesday! Glad you enjoyed the fall leaves. Personally, I'm a little sad to see autumn's colors fading away.... :(

    Hey Snowcatcher;
    Took those pics on my birthday ride! Two weeks ago. We still have lots of pretty leaves though one windy day could easily change all that...

    The High Line Trail is a great one for hiking, too. Located in the Uintah Mountains about 40 miles east of Park City, UT. Access the trailhead along the Mirror Lake Highway. And, bring a camera... plentiful moose wading around in that lake! (Scared the pants off my pony! ;>)

  21. Wow. I love your scenery. Those birch (?) trees look like a mural.

  22. Aww so pretty! I missed out on the mountain colors this year I think. Up around ogden the mountains have looked pretty grey since that first snow/rain storm a weekend or so ago.

    Are there still colors up there? If so I might try make the drive up to see them this weekend.

  23. Happy WW, Tufa!
    They're Quaking Aspens... Ya know I think the horses enjoy shuffling through those crunchy leaves as much as humans do...

  24. Hi, Zombie!
    I haven't been up that high in the last couple weeks, so I don't know for sure but there is still pretty color along Round Valley. And, I still have leaves on my trees. FYI, I've got your seeds ready. Just need to get me arse over to the post office. ;)

  25. That looks so fabulous!! I love the amount of trees mixed with the beautiful leaves.

  28. What gorgeous trees you have! I can see one of several reasons you enjoy horseback riding--it has to be the perfect way to enjoy this stunning scenery.

  29. Ah the clear golden light of autumn! The color of the leaves is glorious.

  30. Hi, All;
    Thanks and Happy Wordless Wednesday. I'm glad you enjoyed the pics though I can't really take much credit for that - I think it's the camera
    not me. Anyhoo, it was a fun ride. Enjoy these fleeting autumn days while you can. :)

  31. Kate, a couple of times I've gone to your blog post from fb. I read it, enjoy it, type a comment full of accolades that your deserve and then......google will not let me sign into my account. Dang, I hate that.

    The camera might have a little to do with it, but you're the one who takes the camera to the most glorious of places. And you must have read at least a few pages of the manual because the photos are simply gorgeous.

  37. I lived in Colorado for 10 years and now I am in the midwest. The fall is just never as pretty here as it is in the high country.

  38. Hi, Elva;
    I'm from the Midwest, too. A 'flat lander' for many, many years. IMHO the mountains make everything prettier. ;-)
