BEHOLD! The first blossoms of 2014! |
With the weather finally cooperating, I donned those much missed, and very tattered, garden gloves to clean up the first of the beds. 2 down, 10 to go. The bulbs are beating me to it, this year. Blooming without the usual TLC from me.

We've had an unusually dry winter.
An alternately too hot, then too cold, spring.
Though it seems to bother me a whole lot more than it bothers the flowers!
It's as if they have little wrist watches attached to their roots. No matter the weather, they're always happy to put on a pretty show.

Happy Bloom Day, Everyone! I'll sign off with a mystery flower. A mystery to me, that is. I can't remember her name. Perhaps you know?

Good to see all your pretty spring bloomers, Kate! I've been doing some garden clean-up, too, whenever I can, mainly so the bulbs could see the light of day--they were covered in a thick layer of leaves. I'm not sure what your mystery flower is; I always have a few "I don't remember planting this" every spring:)
ReplyDeleteBack again--I thought maybe your mystery flower was glory-in-the-snow, Chiondoxa, but I wasn't sure if there was a pink variety. But I just saw some pink blooms on another post, so I'm pretty sure this is what it is.
ReplyDeleteHi, Rose! I think you're right! I remember planting Chinodoxia. But, it's all kind of blurry to me.. :-)
